TimeRC is a Windows95-specific time client which synchronizes your PC clock with a number of time servers from around the world. TimeRC uses your connection to the Internet to get the exact time from an SNTP server. A timestamp is obtained using the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), which returns the time to the nearest second. The program then updates your system time to be synchronized with this timestamp. netdate synchronises your desktop PC's clock with a Unix server. The program requires that you give it a host which is providing the time service on Port 37 (most, if not all unix boxes, although some may block this service). Getting time from a unix box you know is using NTP or XNTP to reset its time will give you the most accurate time on your desktop PC. This program seems to be accurate to within about +/- 1 sec.
